Music Ministry

Join together in song, under talented direction of the choir director. Sing at Sunday Mass, as your schedule allows. Contact the choir director, Christopher Hebard, St. John the Evangelist and St. Margaret Parishes, Patrick Valentino, St. Mary Star of the Sea Parish.

Pro-Life Rosary

Unite as a community praying the Rosary for the sanctity of all life from conception until natural death.  Recitation of the Rosary takes place at 6:30AM before the 7:00AM Mass at St. Mary Star of the Sea and at 8:30AM before the 9:00AM Mass at St. John the Evangelist. 

Eucharistic Adoration

Monday thru Friday 7:30AM till 7:30PM at St. Mary Star of The Sea. The Blessed Sacrament is exposed and adored by volunteers who sign up for one hour or more to pray before the Lord Jesus present in the Monstrance.

Finance Council

Advises the Pastor on financial matters of the parish and school. Responsible for monitoring all income and expenses, and approving the annual budgets.

Offertory Counters

A group that counts the funds collected at Mass each week. 

Parish Pastoral Council

The PPC is involved in most activities and programs effecting the liturgical and spiritual life of the Parish.

Senior Altar Server

Men and women who assist at Mass or Funeral Masses to enhance the worship of our faith community.

Stations of the Cross

Held Friday evenings at 6:30PM at St. Mary Star of The Sea Church and 3:00PM at St. John the Evangelist during Lent. 

Usher

Volunteers who assist people to their seat if necessary. They also take up the collection.

Men’s Group

All men are welcome! Meetings are held every Saturday morning from 7:30am - 8:50am. Join us for coffee, a light breakfast, socialization, and engaging (no pressure) conversation about our faith in a relaxed environment. 

Altar Server

Boys and girls from grade 3 and above who assist the priest at the liturgy.

Baptism Preparation

First time parents as required by the Archdiocese of Boston

Eucharistic Minister

Extraordinary Ministers of Communion who serve the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass and to the sick and homebound.

Fellowship Committee

Volunteers who coordinate social activities and gatherings of parishioners during the year.

Greeters

Parish volunteers who warmly welcome parishioners as they enter the Church for Mass.

Lector

Reader who proclaim the Scriptures at Mass and other services.

Liturgical Linen Service

Responsible for the preparation and care of the altar linens. This includes the washing and ironing of purificators, corporals, and altar linens.

RCIA

Rite of Christian Initiation –Is the program by which adults who are unbaptized, or baptized in another Christian faith, become Catholic.  It's also the program by which baptized Catholics, who have not received Confirmation and/or First Holy Communion prepare and receive these sacraments.

Sacristan

Duties include preparing the altar for Mass and cleaning the altar following Mass.

Fourth Friday Dinners

Provides hot meal to the poor and homesless on the Fourth Friday of the Month at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Ocean Street Beverly.
